Hello friends! I’m Blaire Fujimoto and I’m the creator of this colorful, crafty corner on the internet. I grew up in Hilo, Hawaii and for as long as I can remember, I have loved arts and crafts…and rainbows! As a kid I spent my free time sewing with my grandma, making jewelry, decorating my room, and dreaming of being an artist. Some things haven’t changed! 

I always wanted to help people, so I went to pharmacy school and fulfilled my dream of becoming a pediatric pharmacist. Six years into my job, I was burnt out and struggling with my overall health. I developed a chronic headache condition that made it especially hard to function in an often stressful environment. With the support of my family, I made the difficult decision to leave to improve my well-being.

Eventually I rediscovered my creative side and started sharing my projects on Instagram. I connected with other creative humans (on and off-line) who presented me with exciting opportunities and inspired me to keep going. For once I felt hopeful that my story wasn’t over. From these humble beginnings, I started Freshly Fuji as a way to express myself and share my passion for DIY (do it yourself projects) with others.

Today I live in Dublin, California with my supportive husband, Richard and two adopted pups, Frankie and Penny. They are my sunshine and have helped me weather the darkest storms. Our favorite getaway spot is Carmel where dogs are people too! We live for beach days, boba, and a good picnic, but most of all, we love to laugh.

I’m still on my healing journey and trying to find my footing, but am grateful to have a creative life that fills me up. I hope my work brings a little light to your life and inspires you to create your own joy!
